2006 - 2007 concert season

"Music makes meeting"

We are starting the new music season with a concert by the chamber orchestra "Orpheus" on the 20th of September. This season, we have prepared for our audience, and for everyone who has an interest in us, a balanced concert program. We will once again have meetings with musical partners with whom we have collaborated with in the past, and hope to become reacquainted. And so the motto for this concert season is "Music makes meeting."

We will end the celebration of the year of Mozart with guests from Austria in the month of December. During November we will meet the chamber orchestra from the city of Bursa, Turkey, before the New Year we will travel there to perform. During March 2007, we will perform on tour in Germany and we will meet soloists from the Association Les Amis from Toronto, Canada. Our meetings with these musicians are made possible by the offered support of the Polish Cultural Institute, Cultural Institute of the Czech Republic, the embassy of Austria.

Like always we will not limit ourselves to particular musical styles. We will continue, for example, the Baroque line in our repertoire, but we will also present premiere performances of the music of Andy Orgee (England) and Michael Peppa (Canada). We won't forget the children, for whom we will organize concerts - we will recreate "Carnival of Animals" by Saint-Saens and the "Children's Symphony" by Leopold Mozart. It is also our intention to offer the audience concert programs with solo performances from the leading musicians of the chamber orchestra "Orpheus." Finally, I can announce the new partners of the chamber orchestra "Orpheus" are the New Bulgarian University Music Department and the National Musical Academy of Sofia.

I wish a wonderful musical season to everyone!
